Azlan M.N, born in 1989, commenced his high school journey in the electrical engineering course at the Technical Secondary School of Melaka Tengah, Malaysia. Subsequently, in 2012, he pursued a Bachelor of Physics (Hons) with Education at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), a distinguished institution ranked 158th in the QS World University Ranking. He furthered his academic pursuit by enrolling in the Ph.D. program in nanoscience at the same university in 2016.
His doctoral research focused on the "Linear and nonlinear optical properties of zinc borotellurite glass doped with erbium, erbium nanoparticles, neodymium, and neodymium nanoparticles." Throughout his doctoral studies, Azlan successfully published numerous ISI articles and obtained a patent.
Following the completion of his Ph.D., Azlan embarked on his professional career at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Malaysia, in 2018. Joining as a senior lecturer and researcher specializing in physics and nanomaterials, he actively engages in community initiatives, serves as a motivational speaker, and provides consultancy services. Azlan holds the position of deputy director in the Strategic Department at UPSI, where his responsibilities include developing new strategic plans for the university and enhancing its standing in prestigious rankings such as QS World University Ranking, UI Greenmetric, Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking, Impact Ranking, and SETARA National Star Rating.
Presently, Azlan's research interests center around glass, ceramics, rare-earth elements, nanoparticles, carbon-based materials, metallurgy, and nanomaterials for applications in optics, thermal dynamics, solar energy, and electrical and electronic fields.
